Hey, I’m Nikson.
I’m a queer creative strategist and the founder of Morning Shift Co.
I’ve worked in marketing, design, and strategy for more than 16 years with businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations of all sizes and purposes.
My professional experience includes collaborations with clients such as the College of Western Idaho, Figure 8 Investment Strategies, and Boise Co-op Market. I’ve built campaigns, created brands, designed websites, and helped teams figure out how to say what they need to say.
For four years, I taught communication, leadership, and audience engagement as an adjunct professor at Boise State University. Teaching gave me another way to work with people on clarifying ideas and building confidence in how they show up.
I’ve been active in LGBTQ+ advocacy in Idaho, organizing community actions, coordinating testimony, and lobbying lawmakers at the State Capitol to push back against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.
My focus is on coalition work, education, and making sure queer voices are heard in policymaking. In 2023 I ran for the Idaho House of Representatives, an experience that deepened my understanding of grassroots organizing and public life.
I live in Boise with my partner Reilly and our pup Maisie. Outside of work, I spend time painting, gardening, and I’m currently working on a queer horror graphic novel about survival and community in hostile places.
